PILOT RESEARCH PHASE ON 3 LAKES IN CALIFORNIA
Continuing to expand our operations across the Sierra Nevada is of our organization’s goals, beginning with expansion in the greater Tahoe Basin area. In FY23 we will conduct pilot research in the following lakes:
Boca Reservoir, located outside Truckee, CA, is a highly trafficked recreation area. Activities include fishing, boating, beach access, and swimming. The high levels of recreation make it an excellent candidate for pilot research.
Stampede Reservoir is located approximately 6 miles north of Prosser Reservoir. This reservoir sees similar levels of recreation, including boating fishing, and beach access. It also acts as a source of drinking water for surrounding areas.
Echo Lake is just to the SW corner of Lake Tahoe and is a popular destination for fishermen and hikers. Decades of fishing recreation make this lake an excellent candidate for pilot research and potential remediation.
