Projects

At Clean Up the Lake 501(c)3, we lead both terrestrial and underwater cleanup efforts, collecting critical data to support scientific research and policy development while also running surveillance for aquatic invasive species and reporting observations on algal-blooms for future monitoring. Comprehensive assessments of completed projects are available below, offering detailed insights into our ongoing environmental impact and often providing recommendations for next steps for submerged litter management and aquatic invasive species management.

Convict Lake Pilot Research

Convict Lake, CA

convict-lake

Project Goals

Convict Lake is located SW of Mammoth Lakes Basin and sits at 7,850ft in elevation. Convict Lake sees much of the recreation other lakes in the region commonly encounter. Fishing and boating are Convict Lake’s most popular recreation activities. Data collected during this pilot research program determined that this lake is in need of a circumnavigated litter clean up and further invasive species surveys and monitoring.
