Projects

At Clean Up the Lake 501(c)3, we lead both terrestrial and underwater cleanup efforts, collecting critical data to support scientific research and policy development while also running surveillance for aquatic invasive species and reporting observations on algal-blooms for future monitoring. Comprehensive assessments of completed projects are available below, offering detailed insights into our ongoing environmental impact and often providing recommendations for next steps for submerged litter management and aquatic invasive species management.

Project Goals

After completing a circumnavigated cleanup of June Lake in 2022, the dive teams returned here for more.  To date we have still never seen a lake in such a littered condition and therefore required further time and resources to complete the initial remediation phase.  During the September 2022 cleanup, CUTL identified 3 locations where thousands of litter items were left behind. The team targeted these areas in FY23 for a more tailored cleanup.
